For Many people this is a season of great fear and panic. For some it is a time of reflection, personal growth and great peace. Why? What’s the difference between these two groups?
The above video I made shares some of the tools I use to feel good, most of the time. But it negates to mention the one key fact that gives me an abiding sense of peace and calm amid life’s storms, droughts, fires, floods and pandemics. And believe me, my country has experienced all of that in the last few months.
So what is the real reason why I feel good most of the time? What is the reason that I often feel jubilant, rarely depressed and never anxious?
Is it my yoga? Maybe. I’m sure it helps. Is it eating good food? Yes, I’m sure that make s a huge difference? Is it getting enough sleep? Undoubtedly, but still there is something far deeper and more profound. The antidote for a troubled soul must be spiritual. So what is my secret power?
My faith in God.
I know some people will switch off at this point and that’s ok. If you’ve found other methods that work for you and give you a long lasting sense of peace than that is great. However, I felt that I would be disingenuous if I did not acknowledge the main source of my perpetual calm and hope.
Having faith in God, does not only mean faith in his existence, it is having faith in his goodness, that he overseas all, that he has my back. I know that only things for my good will happen if I put my faith and trust in the Lord. Faith and fear can not co-exist. Faith is a power in and of itself. God has not given us the spirit of fear but of faith and of a sound mind.
I know how to tap into God’s energy at any time. And you can too. It’s free, anonymous and doesn’t hurt a bit. It doesn’t require any special skills, education or training. You don’t even need to have masses of faith. It’s called prayer. Even the simple act of getting quiet and offering a silent humble prayer is an act of faith.
You don’t have to believe as I do, but maybe it’s time to take the opportunity to find out what you believe in.
Go on, take the plunge try praying and see if you too can feel calm amidst any trial. We’ll get through this together.
